Vehicle speed

A client has requested for speed information to be recorded on some video I am doing for their travel time runs. They want a way to know how fast the vehicle is traveling in a particular portion of the video. It seems a little messy to record my speedometer on my car as well. I am looking into two options 1) getting a portable digital speedometer which I could place in the camera view, or 2) maybe tsppd could have a generously sized text box or something that would relay my speed information on the screen. I know if I hoover over a point it tells me my speed, but I want something that I can play with the video as I am recording.
